The steps of international air transportation usually include the following main steps:
1. Inquiry and Quotation
The customer inquired with the freight forwarder about the shipping cost and related expenses. Freight forwarders provide quotations based on information such as the weight, volume, and destination of the goods.
2. Booking
After confirming the transportation, the customer confirms the booking with the freight forwarder. Freight forwarders arrange flights and cabin spaces with airlines, and confirm transportation times.
3. Cargo Preparation and Packaging
The customer prepares the goods and packages them according to the requirements of air transportation. The packaging must comply with aviation safety and transportation standards.
4. Cargo Pick up
According to the customer's request, the freight forwarder arranges for pick-up and transports the goods from the customer's warehouse or designated location to the airport cargo terminal.
5. Export Customs Clearance
Freight forwarders handle export customs clearance procedures on behalf of clients. We need to provide relevant documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations, and ensure compliance with the customs regulations of the exporting country.
6.Delivery to Airport
After customs clearance is completed, the goods are sent to the airport cargo terminal and undergo processes such as weighing and security checks.
7.Air Transport
The goods are transported to the destination airport according to the booked flight. The airline will transport the goods to the destination according to the flight schedule.
8.Import Customs Clearance
After the goods arrive at the destination airport, they need to go through import customs clearance. Freight forwarders or destination customs clearance agents will handle import customs declaration and pay necessary tariffs and fees.
9.Cargo Pick up at Destination Airport
After customs clearance is completed, the goods are picked up from the airport cargo terminal and prepared to be delivered to the final consignee.
10.Delivery to Final Destination
The goods are delivered to the designated location of the consignee, completing the entire transportation process.
11.Receipt Confirmation
The consignee confirms receipt of the goods, checks if they are in good condition, and signs for the waybill.
